THE FOLLOWING WAS POSTED ON INTERNET on the subject of jewellery, gold and silver worn by Hindu gods and dieties in temples:
1."Ouchityam" or Suitability-The jewels that the Lord wears are eminently suitable to adorn Him. They are quite in tune not only with His magnificent physical characteristics like incomparable and incredible beauty, brilliance, magnificence, etc., but also His unique traits like Paratvam, Saulabhyam, etc. If we take His headgear for instance, it is a prima facie indicator of His Paratvam, its length and radiance telling us at once, "Here is the Master of all the Worlds".

Very impressed by the dazzling WEALTH and "crown" Jewels of our LORDS, as in this e-mail (curtailed above).
I am fascinated by the above account of embellishments of our Lords. I think this has had two MOST UNFORTUNATE and DEVASTATING consequences for their followers, and it is a SHAME for us all that we have not assessed these lethal DANGERS.
Firstly, our richly BEJEWELLED Lords have acted as magnet for all the PREDATORS, not only from Italy (as today) but also the French and the British (yesterday) and countless barbaric and bestial INVADERS from the NORTH WEST before that. The treatment they all meted out to bejewelled Lords in our Temples, Somnath, Ayodhya, Mathura and Varanasi are just a few, is worthy of note.
Secondly, our bejewelled Lords dressed up to look like beautiful and attractive BRIDES "on first night", could NOT defend themselves.
The result is that the MOST PROMINENT temple of our Lord Rama is still IN RUINS and the predators are threatening ANOTHER civil war if we built a suitable temple on the very spot.
Throughout Indian history, at least since 712 AD, HINDUSTAN has only seen defeats, deaths and destruction. THANKS TO OUR LORDS IN ORNAMENTS AND JEWELLERY.
Whenever I visit the Temple and look at the BEJEWELLED Lords, I wish to take off ALL the gold, silver and jewellery covering them, and replace these BY A GUN AND A SWORD. I wish to stick a notice with a nail above their heads that reads, "PRITHAM BHAGAUTI SIMAR KAY...." uttered by the TRUE and MOST RELIABLE Lord of Hindustan, Guru Gobind Singhji. ("Bhagauti" in the verse means SWORD).
Given that the COLLECTIVE Head of our nation is still SMASHED (or it is President ABDUL KALAM), could one NOT expect the VHP or some Shankaracharya to issue an edict that "henceforth ALL OUR LORDS WILL CARRY ARMS AND WEAPONS TO INSPIRE their followers to confront anyone approaching from the direction of Mecca or Vatican."
WATCH THE SURVING HOLY LORDS AND LADIES OF TEMPLES THROUGHOUT HINDUSTAN VANISH IN THE MANNER OF THOSE IN LAHORE AND NORTH KASHMIR SINCE THE (DAMN FOOL) NATIVES REFUSE TO LEARN ANYTHING FROM THEIR OWN HISTORY.
