Dear Mr. Atkinson,
It was great pleasure reading your letter in the "NEWS ON SUNDAY", Northamptonshire's premier and popular weekly, on Sunday 28, 2004.
ISLAM continuously and constantly wears down a democracy (and its secular and tolerant values) and in the end makes the country look like Saudi Arabia of 7th century AD.
In the ISLAMIC world, "public opinion" is made by the GUNS OF RULERS (usually generals and dictators). In civilised societies such as ours, Public Opinion is made by POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, that is, subconscious TERROR OF ISLAM.
I assure you that a SILENT MAJORITY in this country supports you in your defence of Israel.
The British are supposed to be fair minded, and ought to notice the unequal fight between Global Islam and the tiny State of Israel, gasping for breath.
The British were supposed to champion the weak in this instance but I believe the British government has taken an UNPRINCIPLED stand over Israel to appease the Islamic "monster" that is now home grown, and growing . . . .
It is amazing that the Muslims, from Morocco to Indonesia, have 42 republics on earth, some larger than France (e.g., Pakistan), yet they are NOT prepared to absorb a couple of million PLO people for the sake of peace on earth. They are FAR LESS in number than the number of Jews killed by Hitler in the 1940's. Muslims have been AGGRESSIVE mode for centuries while Israel is hard pressed into DEFENSIVE mode since 1948. The world ought to shed COWARDICE and stand by Israel.
Sending SUICIDE BOMBERS into Israel, and DESTROYING TRAINS in Madrid, and TOWERS in the United States, is what "comes naturally" to them.
In sheer contrast, India at PARTITION, absorbed 15 MILLION HINDU / SIKH refugees in 1947 and has over 15 MILLION strong illegal Bangladeshi CANCER in her body right now.

PS: THOSE WHO CITE THE EXAMPLE OF THE RECONCILIATION IN IRELAND CONVENIENTLY FORGET THAT BOTH NORTH AND SOUTH KASHMIR ARE CHRISTIAN.
SIMILARLY THE REASON OF THE TWO GERMANYS UNITING WAS THAT BOTH EAST AND WEST GERMANY ARE CHRISTIAN.
BUT CAN ONE HOPE FOR SOUTH KASHMIR AND NORTH KASHMIR OR FOR WEST BENGAL AND EAST BENGAL?
ONE MUST BE A COOT OR CUCKOO TO THINK SO. FIRST YOU HAVE TO BAN KORAN LIKE HITLER'S "MEIN KAMPF", THE BOOK OF SEPARATISM, HOSTILITY AND VIOLENCE.
