Amer Cheema was arrested in March in Berlin on charges of trying to kill the editor of Die Welt newspaper which had reprinted controversial cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad. According to German police Cheema hanged himself in his cell. However Islamist party activists say he was killed through torture.
