LUANDA – Angola (a Southwest African nation) has banned Islam.
Angola condemned Islam as "illegal".
Different Mosques have been destroyed.
The process of legalization of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.
The Mosques would be closed until further notice.
Rosa Cruz e Silva, the Angolan Minister of Culture, during her visit last Tuesday to the 6th Commission of the National Assembly was quoted by Agence Ecofin on Friday, November 22.

Official numbers, cited in the US State Department 2012 International Religious Rights Report, say that Islam in Angola is a minority religion with 80,000-90,000 adherents.
