LET US LOOK AT 1946 AND 1947. A COUPLE OF ACCOUNTS:

HoweveR I, nor ANY one of our Relatives were living in present Divided India, now known as Pakistan , the FANATICS & TERRORISTS OF THE WORLD. However I have been to Pakistan Three times and all the times without Visas, which as Hindu is exceedingly Dangerous & risk of One's life but even then at my own sweet will voluntarily , I had risked My life without the slightest desire to receive ant award Nor Recognition from any one .
since You have very kindly asked the readers to write about their experiences of that period, I would like to state as inder :
In 1947. my father told US that about 19 ( NINETEEN ) of our distant relatives are coming from TOPKHANA BAZAR, Cantonment , SIALKOT & THEY WILL STAY WITH US only. As the nationalists feeling were very high , My mother & we all told, irrespective of our comparatively small house to accommodate all so many people, we OKAYED.
When they arrived , all were in tears & crying that one of Their GREAT-GREAT GRAND MOTHER was killed by those BARBARIC GOONS BY CHOPPING OFF HER ONE BUST
while they were running from there. We had showered all our LOVE & RESPECT to all of them & the NEXT old woman had become our "DADI" also. they all had become an integral part of our Family for about full TWO YEARS as my Father felt EXCEEDINGLY PITY FOR THEM< & SO WE DID FEEL THE SAME.
Our Entire town of Jhansi was full of "REFUGEES " from WEST PAKISTAN till they gradually MINGLED IN THE SOCIETY OF JHANSI & every one extended one's helping hand to them with one thing that NONE LIKED THEIR SAYING REPEATEDLY THAT THEY OWNED SUCH & SUCH PROPERTY OR WEALTH IN PAKISTAN .
At that young age I did Not realise the truth in their Statements but after I grew mature & an Youngman, & after my visit to pakistan, I was shocked how Gracefully every Muslim in Pakistan was living in Palatial Bungalows & "KOTHIES", all captured from RUNNING HINDUS.
Since I had met all kinds & all types of people there , I was told that they had NOT KILLED MENIAL WORKING HINDUS OR HINDUS WHO WERE WILLING TO WORK AS "CHAMARS" & "BHANGIES" ( AS COBBLERS & SWEEPERS ) and those Hindus who had willingly embraced Islam. I was also told that HINDUS , in order to save themselves , had first embraced Buddhism ,but finding No Solution , had Converted themselves into Christianity so that western world may save them.
I was also told By Pakistan's various journalists & JANAB WALI KHAN SAHEB ( SON OF ABDUL GAFFAR KHAN, "FRONTIER GANDHI" ) & SOME OWNERS OF THEIR NEWS PAPERS WITH NOSTALGIC SENSE that they had killed TIMID HINDUS & SIKHS WHO WERE HIDING IN GURUDWARAS & TEMPLES & HAD COLLECTED/ HERDED THEIR GIRLS AS SHEEPS & GOATS, surrounded BY ALL THEIR UGLY- DIRTY PAAN CHEWING , TOBACCO CHEWING, SPITTING , SMELLING GOONS, EVEN OLD, SICK WITH INFECTIOUS DISEASES & INVALIDS & HAD DISTRIBUTED THOSE HINDU & SIKH GIRLS TO THEM AS PRASAD OR REWARD & THOSE WHO WERE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRLS< THEY WERE TRANSPORTED TO MIDDLE EAST< PARTICULARLY TO SAUDI ARABIA , THOUGH THEY WERE SENT UP TO TURKEY TO WORK AS SLAVES OR PROSTITUTES, AND A FEW MILLIONS WERE GIFTED TO HIGHER UPS IN PAKISTAN . WHILE THE HINDU / SIKH MALE MEMBERS WERE ALREADY KILLED.
BEFORE RAPING HINDU /SIKH GIRLS , YOUNG & OLD, ALL WERE FORCIBLY MADE TO SHOUT : "PAKISTAN ZINDABAD " <" KAID-E- AZAM ZINDABAD", "BHARAT MURDABAD.... " ETC.
VERY - VERY PATHETIC STORIES OF THE REFUGEES AS WELL AS OF THE NOW GROWN UP GIRLS IN PAKISTAN, AFEW HAD COME TO ME TO TAKE THEM TO INDIA AS THEIR MOTHERS OR GRAND MOTHERS HAD TOLD THEM THAT "......THEY WERE HINDUS OR SIKHS EARLIER BUT WERE FORCED TO EMBRACE ISLAM....."
I CERTAINLY HAS NO PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OF LIVING IN THAT PART OF PAKISTAN DURING 1946-47 AND I HAD SIMILAR BITTER & PATHETIC EXPERIENCE / STORIES IN PRESENT BANGLADESH DURING MY VISITS THERE, I HAD SEEN ONE HINDU BENGALI GIRL WHILE SINGING ON THEIR TV : ".... AMAAR SONAAR BANGA .... & SHE HAD FAINTED & HAD STARTED CRYING ON THEIR TV WHEN THEY HAD SWITCHED OFF THEIR TV CHANNEL. I IRREVOCABLY STATE THAT I HAD SEEN IT MYSELF IN DHAKA ON THEIR TV & ONE BRIG CHAKRABORTY & WING COMMANDER SAINI WERE ALSO WITNESS TO THAT PATHETIC SCENE.

I was a pupil at DAV High School in Prahlad Puri (MULTAN). There was one Muslim pupil named Tasaddaq Hussain in my class, the rest were all Hindu. Towards the end of 1946 he became very excited and spoke of parting from the Kafirs and Infidels. “Why?” I asked him, “to break up the country and separate the Hindus from the Muslims after centuries of living together?”
“Hindus are exploiting the Muslims and have made us poor and at their mercy. They have been our slaves in the past and we cannot bear the thought of them ruling over us. There will be no Muslim left in India in 20 years’ time if we don’t have our own sovereign country,” he used to say. “But when we get Pakistan we will have all the natural resources of the land and the zeal of Islam to develop our country to the standard of France and England in 20 years’ time. Every Pakistani will have a house, running hot and cold water, western style toilets and plenty to eat.”
What he said, appealed to all the “JAAHILS” and they united as one man across the sub continent. Our Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was like real brother to Mohammed Ali Jinnah, a fellow barrister from London and the Muslim leader, who regarded himself superior and separate from the Hindus. It was fashionable in ruling circles then to befriend the Muslims and loathe the Hindus.
Nehru lived the life style of emperors and behaved and spoke like our British masters. He was neither for the Hindus nor for Hindusthan. It was quite obvious then but Imperial power and propaganda by media blinded us to reality and to what was about to take place.
What was noticeable was complete apathy of Hindus in Delhi and total ignorance of Hindus in UP, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. While the Muslims took out frenzied processions through towns and cities across northern India, provocatively shouting "Pakistan Zindabaad!", the Hindus remained placid, calm and in "Om Shanti Shanti" mode- unconcerned and mere onlookers. Not even the thought of impending massacres roused them to counter demonstrations. Many did not know what was going to happen to East Bengal and Sindh.
As the inter communal tensions grew, with the British watching the heat and "tamaasha" in safety from above, many Hindu families, feeling insecure and uncertain, thought of locking up their homes and going away to hills or relatives in Hindu majority States (Kangra hills and Hindu princely states being the favourite!) and then return to the new Islamic country to live in peace! How naïve and ignorant we were about the destructive Ideology of Islam! (Are we any better today?).
None thought that they would never return to their homes ever again.
The British rulers, knowing that Hindusthan could become a world power with all that land mass and natural resources, decided to fragment the sub continent. Thereby they served two causes. Firstly pushing our economic recovery by many decades. and secondly. creating a zone of hostility in South Asia in order to sell arms and weapons to us to remain at loggerheads for ever.
Nehru was Islam’s biggest asset in what he was to do further: He, along with "meekly go along" Mahatma/Bapu Gandhi, made sure that NO Muslim was asked to leave for his Pakistan and secondly he enacted a Constitution to enslave the Hindus again. Anyone who abused a Mohammed was to go to jail and spend the rest of his life there. Muslim had to be protected at all costs. Muslim became someone special. Muslim had to be pampered, pleased and appeased for the sake of peace in Hindusthan.
Further concessions were: never to mention PARTITION, never to hold any commemoration ceremony, never to designate a “Dhaka Memorial Day” or “Multan Memorial Day” and never to ask for a Memorial to be built for the two millions dead and 15 million who were forced out of their homes in 1947.
That is where our Bharat is in LIMBO today with the added friction and heat over KASHMIR. Pygmies are facing giant size problems that plague us today and lie ahead.
