Upananda Brahmachari | HENB | Noida | April 13, 2017:: Hindutvawadi Sudarshan TV editor Suresh Chavhanke arrested for allegedly airing communally-charged content. Consequently his Noida-Sambhal rally on 13th April was also stopped.

Suresh Chavhanke, the editor of Sudarshan TV news channel, got arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police on 12 April from Lucknow airport on charges of inciting communal sentiments.

If the media reports are to be believed, Chavhanke was arrested before he was able to lead a Hindu rally which was objected by a large section of Muslim community in Sambhal district.

Chavhanke wanted to participate in jalabhishek ( Consecration by ritualistic bathing with water) on Shivapindi in Shri Harihar Temple to be performed for the first time in 35 years in Shambhal. The Harihar Temple of Shambhal was desecrated by the fanatics in Muslim rule and a Mosque was erected upon the partly destroyed temple ruins. as believed.

Etraf Hossian Babar, the Imam of the Jama Mosque of Sambhal warned Mr. Chavhanke that he would have to get converted to Islam if he wanted to enter Sambhal, otherwise his heads would be cut off after legs chopped off.

Under precautionary measures, Chavhanke was arrested in Lucknow so that he would not conduct his Noida-Sambhal march scheduled on 13th April, 2017.

Chavhanke was booked under Sections 153 A(1), 295A and 505(1)B of the Indian Penal Code and also booked under section 16 of the Cable Television Network (Regulation) Act, 1955, reported The Hindu.

A 2007 batch IPS officer Ravi Shankar Chabbi has reportedly alleged that the editor was involved in airing content that disturbed communal harmony in the district.

Members of different communities complained about content shown in the show Bindaas Bol which prompted police to take action against him.

It is embarrassing to Hindus that Hindu TV editor Shri. Chavhanke arrested on allegations, but provocative Imam moving freely who threatened killing of Chavhanke even under the Yogi rule in Uttar Pradesh.

Members of Hindu Existence Forum appeal UP Govt to immediate arrest of all Talibani Imams in Uttar Pradesh who dare to kill Hindus or Hindu leaders/personalities through open threatening/fatwa.
