Thank you. Your "better" solution, that is, MUSLIMS TO BE EXPELLED FROM PARTITIONED INDIA (e-mail below), is the BEST solution that struck us even in those days (71 years ago!) when we, bedraggled, scared, penniless and grieving, crossed over to Amritsar from Lahore, chased by fellow citizens who suddenly and miraculously became "wolves" in hot pursuit of us, the "sheep".
A great and ancient metropolis, the bustling capital of a grand Province, blessed by Nature with FIVE rivers, mentioned in Pandavas' era, and Bhagat Prahlad's time, was evacuated within days in bloodshed, haste and panic.
This side of the border, when we heaved a SIGH of relief, the first shock came when we learnt that Abul Kalam Azad, a devout fundamentalist Muslim, a Maulana, had not left for Pakistan, and when We saw the first Muslim at Ambala railway station. We looked at him with shock and contempt, and asked, "What is HE doing here?" Somehow, the presence of MUSLIMS in Partitioned India was (and is) accepted with disgust, despair and resignation. We loved our homes, our lands, our schools, our mandirs and gurdwaras - and our LAHORE.
Prime ministers have come and gone. Sarkars have come and gone. But Partition, separation of Lahore from Delhi, has remained to trouble all those with the LEAST bit of patriotism and respect for MOTHER India (Bharat MATA) in their hearts.
We were pushed to a LAND of much quantity but little quality. One can put the ear to ground and listen to the soil where Sri Rama and Sita Devi walked, that is, KASUR and LAHORE!
Our sacred soil is constantly whispering, "MUSLIM AND HIS MOSQUE WILL REMAIN ALIEN, EVEN OFFENSIVE & PROVOCATIVE, SO LONG AS LAHORE & DELHI LIVE UNDER TWO DIFFERENT FLAGS." We can LISTEN if we are brave but IGNORE if we are cowards. TRUTH has NO shades and nuances. It is simple, clear and binding for the peon as much as for the President.
We will live on, the Presidents and prime ministers will live on FOR EVER with the nagging feeling, "We HINDUS betrayed our "mother", our land, our "dharti", our sacred soil, and NEVER retaliated or recalled. but remained a spiritless, gutless and LIFELESS nation."

Some things can be forgotten but surely NOT the “murder of one’s MOTHER” if we ever say “Bharat Mata” again!
