The Kashmiri Pandits would still be there if our autocratic Prime Minister, JL Nehru, Centre had shown guts to -
(1) capture all of Kashmir in 1947 instead of declaring cease-fire like a "rat";
(2) Recover North Kashmir in 1972 when Pakistani army was smashed;
(3) Change demography in Kashmir just as Russia did in Kaliningrad and Crimea, and as TURKEY did in Northern Cyprus, and as Pakistan did in 1947 (wiped out all the Hindus and Sikhs within weeks!). In contrast, our "Mahaan" Bharat did not move even ONE Muslim out of Kashmir!
Kashmiri Hindus would still have been in their homes had they organised themselves and showed guts and courage to stay put and defend their homes like the Ukrainians today!
And if our own government at Centre had sent weapons to the Kashmiri Hindus just as the EU, the UK and the USA are supplying weapons and ammunition to Ukraine to empower the natives there. Our government BETRAYED the Kashmiri Hindus and yet never any regret or an apology!
To our bad luck, earlier a "Partition", our own Government had surrendered our homes, land and territories to the enemy and abandoned us to our fate there and even did not do anything commendable to receive us in an organised manner after we arrived as refugees from Pakistan.
There should be another documentary about the similar plight of Hindus in West Punjab and East Bengal!
